This plugin will extend Buddypress to have an Ajax Chat client that works with Buddypress groups, Wordpress Tutorial

Noted That:

  • To install correctly this buddypress-ajax-chat.zip .
  • Fisrt Download the buddypress-ajax-chat.zip to your computer
  • Extract/Open buddypress-ajax-chat.zip to Your Computer.
  • Then, Find readme.txt file inside buddypress-ajax-chat.zip and Open readme.txt .
  • Now, Read the Requirements of this plugin. Which Wordpress Version and PHP Version are required to run this Plugin in Your Wordpress Site.
  • Then, Follow the Tips Below.

Start the Tips:

1. First Download " buddypress-ajax-chat.zip " Plugin to your Local Computer. (Click Download)

2. Then, Login to your " yourdomain.com/wp-admin " Dashboard.

3. Then, Click on " Plugins " + " Add New " from left sidemenu of Dashboard.

4. Now, Click on "Upload Plugin" button.

5. Now, Browse " buddypress-ajax-chat.zip "  Downloaded plugin from your computer, Where you downloaded buddypress-ajax-chat.zip According to Step – 1 Above then, click on " Install Now"

6. Now, Click on " Active Plugin"

7. Then, See left sidemenu. " Buddypress-Ajax-Chat " folder is added on left sidemenu. Now, Click on " Buddypress-Ajax-Chat " folder.

   Noted that: If you do not see " Buddypress-Ajax-Chat " folder on left sidemenu then, see at left sidemenu " Settings " or " Tools ".

8. Now you configure yourself oR Watch video tutorial below about  Buddypress-Ajax-Chat Configurtions and Settings or How to work " Buddypress-Ajax-Chat " in your WordPress site.

After Activated Plugin According to Step-6 then,

  1. Go to " Plugins " + " Installed Plugin " from Wordpress Admin Panel Leftside Menu.
  2. or Direct go to: https://yourdomain/wp-admin/plugins.php
  3. Then, Find " Buddypress-Ajax-Chat " Activated Plugin from Plugin List.
  4. Then, Click on " Settings " from Plugin that is Buddypress-Ajax-Chat
  5. Now, Edit/Add/Config the setting and Click on " Save Changes " button,

Guide

New Install or Upgrade

  1. Just install from wordpress/wordpress mu or you can download to /wp-content/plugins
    as /wp-content/plugins/buddypress-ajax-chat/…

  2. Last step
    A. log in as admin to wordpress/wordpress mu
    B. go to the plugins section to activate Buddypress Ajax Chat (bp-chat)
    C. Click on Activate Buddypress Chat sitewide for the bp-chat plugin
    D. Click on the Dashboard link to make sure the plugin is activated

Optional:

  1. Add your own theme configuration.
    A. Default comes with a facebookish color scheme.
    i. Just copy the themes/facebookish/buddypress-ajax-chat directory to your child theme

    
 Example: wp-content/theme/bp_anygig/buddypress-ajax-chat/_inc/buddypress-ajax-chat.css

    B. Or make your own css file called buddypress-ajax-chat/_inc/buddypress-ajax-chat.css

    
 Example: wp-content/theme/bp_anygig/buddypress-ajax-chat/_inc/buddypress-ajax-chat.css

  2. Configure site wide chat options:
    A. Log in as admin
    B. Click on Buddypress Dashboard
    C. Click on Chat Settings
