Extend default search to search only in the post title and not the excerpt or content on the website and the wordpress admin panel. Wordpress Tutorial

Noted That:

  • To install correctly this cx-extended-search.zip .
  • Fisrt Download the cx-extended-search.zip to your computer
  • Extract/Open cx-extended-search.zip to Your Computer.
  • Then, Find readme.txt file inside cx-extended-search.zip and Open readme.txt .
  • Now, Read the Requirements of this plugin. Which Wordpress Version and PHP Version are required to run this Plugin in Your Wordpress Site.
  • Then, Follow the Tips Below.

Start the Tips:

1. First Download " cx-extended-search.zip " Plugin to your Local Computer. (Click Download)

2. Then, Login to your " yourdomain.com/wp-admin " Dashboard.

3. Then, Click on " Plugins " + " Add New " from left sidemenu of Dashboard.

4. Now, Click on "Upload Plugin" button.

5. Now, Browse " cx-extended-search.zip "  Downloaded plugin from your computer, Where you downloaded cx-extended-search.zip According to Step – 1 Above then, click on " Install Now"

6. Now, Click on " Active Plugin"

7. Then, See left sidemenu. " WP Retracted Search " folder is added on left sidemenu. Now, Click on " WP Retracted Search " folder.

   Noted that: If you do not see " WP Retracted Search " folder on left sidemenu then, see at left sidemenu " Settings " or " Tools ".

8. Now you configure yourself oR Watch video tutorial below about  WP Retracted Search Configurtions and Settings or How to work " WP Retracted Search " in your WordPress site.

After Activated Plugin According to Step-6 then,

  1. Go to " Plugins " + " Installed Plugin " from Wordpress Admin Panel Leftside Menu.
  2. or Direct go to: https://yourdomain/wp-admin/plugins.php
  3. Then, Find " WP Retracted Search " Activated Plugin from Plugin List.
  4. Then, Click on " Settings " from Plugin that is WP Retracted Search
  5. Now, Edit/Add/Config the setting and Click on " Save Changes " button,

Minimum Requirements

Automatic installation

Automatic installation is the easiest option as WordPress handles the file transfers itself and you don’t need to leave your web browser. To do an automatic install of Retracted Search, log in to your WordPress dashboard, navigate to the Plugins menu and click Add New.

In the search field type Retracted Search and click Search Plugins. Once you’ve found our plugin you can view details about it such as the the rating and description. Most importantly, of course, you can install it by simply clicking Install Now.

Manual Installation

  1. Unzip the plugin and upload the “cx-extended-search” folder to your “/wp-content/plugins/” directory
  2. Activate the plugin through the “Plugins” administration page in WordPress, and thats it, no configurations needed.
