Fixes long filename problem on Windows systems when doing updates, such as updating from EDD based sites.

Noted That:

  • To install correctly this fix-windows-compatibility.zip.
  • Fisrt Download the fix-windows-compatibility.zip to your computer
  • Extract/Open fix-windows-compatibility.zip to Your Computer.
  • Then, Find readme.txt file inside fix-windows-compatibility.zip and Open readme.txt.
  • Now, Read the Requirements of this plugin. Which Wordpress Version and PHP Version are required to run this Plugin in Your Wordpress Site.
  • Then, Follow the the Tips Below.

Start the Tips:

1. First Download "fix-windows-compatibility.zip" Plugin to your Local Computer. (Click Download)

2. Then, Login to your "yourdomain.com/wp-admin" Dashboard.

3. Then, Click on "Plugins" + "Add New" from left sidemenu of Dashboard.

4. Now, Click on "Upload Plugin" button.

5. Now, Browse "fix-windows-compatibility.zip" Downloaded plugin from your computer, Where you downloaded fix-windows-compatibility.zip According to Step – 1 Above then, click on "Install Now"

6. Now, Click on "Active Plugin"

7. Then, See left sidemenu. "Windows Compatibility Fix" folder is added on left sidemenu. Now, Click on "Windows Compatibility Fix" folder.

   Noted that: If you do not see "Windows Compatibility Fix" folder on left sidemenu then, see at left sidemenu "Settings" or "Tools".

After Activated Plugin According to Step-6 then,

  1. Go to "Plugins" + "Installed Plugin" from Wordpress Admin Panel Leftside Menu.
  2. or Direct go to: https://yourdomain/wp-admin/plugins.php
  3. Then, Find "Windows Compatibility Fix" Activated Plugin from Plugin List.
  4. Then, Click on "Settings" from Plugin that is Windows Compatibility Fix
  5. Now, Edit/Add/Config the setting and Click on "Save Changes" button,

Guide

Installation instructions: To install, do the following:

  1. From the dashboard of your site, navigate to Plugins –> Add New.
  2. Select the “Upload Plugin” button.
  3. Click on the “Choose File” button to upload your file.
  4. When the Open dialog appears select the windows-compatability-fix.zip file from your desktop.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions and wait until the upload is complete.
  6. When finished, activate the plugin via the prompt. A confirmation message will be displayed.

or, you can upload the files directly to your server.

  1. Upload all of the files in Windows-Compatibility-Fix.zip to your /wp-content/plugins/windows-compatability-fix directory.
  2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
